Audio description commentary service launched

For the upcoming Cymru FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Belarus & Belgium at the Cardiff City Stadium, the Football Association of Wales will launch an audio description commentary service.

The free to use service for blind and vision impaired spectators will be provided by Alan March Sport Ltd and will be available to fans.

Trained audio describers will keep up with play to the second to ensure listeners know exactly where the ball is and what is happening on the pitch.

The FAW’s Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Integrity Manager Jason Webber said, “We are delighted to provide an audio description commentary service at our matches as part of our continued commitment in making football accessible for everyone.

“We have been working in partnership with key stakeholders to form a National Disabled Supporters Association to enable us to listen to and collaborate with our Disabled fans to ensure we are providing an inclusive and accessible matchday experience.”
