Football V Transphobia Week of Action

At the Football Association of Wales (FAW), we believe that football should be accessible and a welcoming place for all. The FAW will continue its support of the Football v Transphobia week of action, now in its 5th year of an annual campaign

Football v Transphobia was founded back in 2019, with an aim to highlight the positive contribution trans people make to football and to show how everyone involved in the game can be active allies to trans and non-binary people across the game and society.

Football has the power to bring communities together and create positive societal change. Through the power of football and the implementation of the FAW’s PAWB strategy, alongside the Welsh football family, the FAW aim to create a future of Welsh football where everyone can gain access to the sport and feel they belong.

The FAW welcomes trans people to play, support, and feel included in football in Wales and encourages Trans Cymru fans to contact the FAW, The Rainbow Wall or Wal Goch y Menywod if they are interested in attending the game with other LGBTQ+ people and allies.

As an individual, you can join the FAW and make a statement of allyship for trans people using the hashtag #FVT2024 on social media.

Please remember football is for everyone. Mae pêl-droed yn gêm i bawb.
