Level Playing Field Weeks of Action

The Football Association of Wales is proud to continue its support of Level Playing Field’s “Weeks of Action” campaign.

Disability charity, Level Playing Field are celebrating their 17th annual “Weeks of Action” campaign which began on Saturday 27th and runs to Sunday 14th March. The campaign aims to showcase the good work being done by clubs and organisations to improve accessibility and inclusion across all sports.

As part of the Level Playing Field's "Weeks of Action", the FAW staged an online meeting event to launch the ‘Disabled Supporters Association Network in Wales’.

This network of DSA leads from the Cymru DSA and the DSA's of Welsh clubs has been established with the aim to support fellow leads in addition to providing a space to share ideas to improve access and opportunity throughout Welsh football.

Cymru DSA’s Kieran Jones shared: “During these unprecedented times the disabled communities across Wales have been hit harder than most. One year on and some of our members still have yet to leave their home.

“The establishment of a National network of DSA’s within Wales will help all football fans across the country to have a voice and be heard - embodying the true essence of ‘Together Stronger’."

Cymru DSA’s Paul Corkrey added: “We hope that a national Cymru DSA will bring likeminded people together to share our experiences and knowledge to create a level playing field for all who love attending sporting events.”

Wednesday the 10th of March will also see the launch of a Disability Access Officer Network in Wales. This online Zoom meeting will shape the aim and direction of the Network which is hoped to include sharing best practice, innovative ideas, in addition to training and support.
