Ramadan Awareness across Welsh Football

Ramadan is a significant month for Muslims worldwide, during which they observe fasting from dawn until sunset as a means of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to God.

Taking proactive steps to support Muslim players and staff observing Ramadan can help to create an environment that promotes inclusivity, respect, and well-being. Through awareness, flexibility, and addressing specific needs, football Clubs, league and match officials can ensure that everyone feels valued and empowered to perform at their best, both on and off the field, during this sacred time.

The Football Association of Wales are proud to continue their support of the Muslim community across Welsh football with the release of a new resource pack to help enhance understanding of Ramadan while also providing some practical guidelines to enable those working in Football to establish a supportive environment for those observing this sacred month. You can download the resource pack here: FAW PAWB | Ramadan Awareness In Football.

Officials across the game will also be provided with guidelines regarding players breaking their fast during evening fixtures.
