Youth Council

The FAW Youth Council aims to provide a platform for children and young people to influence change and decision-making in Welsh football while developing themselves as young leaders and ambassadors of the game.

The role of a Youth Council Member is to represent the voice of children and young people advising on policy and the development of football in Wales. The Youth Council will be integral in establishing regional Youth Councils throughout Wales influencing policy and decision-making at all levels along with supporting the organisation and delivery of the annual FAW Youth conference.

 

What are the FAW Youth Council Responsibilities?

  • Representing the voice of Children and Young People throughout Wales.
  • Influencing change in the strategic direction of football in Wales.
  • Empowering Children and Young People to identify, raise awareness of and discuss the important issues and challenges for them in football.
  • Inspiring Children and Young People to participate and volunteer in football.
  • Making recommendations on the development of football and policy changes.
  • Ensuring that all Children and Young People have equal opportunities to be part of and included in the football family.
  • Develop and deliver specific initiatives that contribute toward the FAW Youth Council’s aims & objectives.
  • Supporting the development of leadership skills in young people.
