Accessible and Inclusive Facilities

Is the area where your organisation is located accessible and inclusive to everyone?

It is important to ensure that the Club's venue is accessible via good level/gradient entry into the venue and external areas for vehicles, wheelchairs, pushchairs, seating provided en-route etc, and has good lighting from the main road to the venue entrance.

Is your catering or food provided inclusive for everyone?
If you provide food or catering ensure that you have a range of options available that is inclusive to vegetarians, vegans, Muslims (Halal) etc.

Are your facilities female-friendly?

Inclusive gender-specific toilets and showers should be provided, along with both a separate gender-neutral facility and separate accessible facilities too.

The FAW’s Environments for HER guide provides some support in establishing a female-friendly facility. Is your catering or food provided inclusive for everyone?

Accessibility Evaluation toolkit

You can use the accessibility evaluation toolkit to evaluate the accessibility of the facility the Club uses. The Toolkit provides reflective questions to consider to establish where improvements can be made to develop a more inclusive and accessible environment for Disabled People. You may need to work with your local authority or private provider to develop inclusive accessibility or apply for funding to improve this.
